Tashi Delek and Welcome

The Tibetan Children Relief Society of New Zealand is a registered non-profit voluntary humanitarian organisation formed in 1964 to build a home for Tibetan refugee children at the Tibetan Children’s Village in Upper Dharamsala, North India.

TCRS is unique in today’s world because every bit of your sponsorship money goes to your nominated Tibetan person or centre.

The Society has raised sponsorship funds for the health, welfare and education of the children who live at the Tibetan Children’s Village in Dharamsala and Tibetan Homes Foundation in Mussoorie. These sponsorships have helped to raise the standard of living of the children over the passed fifty years, but they now play an increasingly vital part with the growing influx of refugees from Tibet.

These young people face an uncertain future in their homeland, where the very survival of their unique culture is threatened, as they become a minority in their own country. The number of those seeking refuge status has now risen to over one thousand per annum.

“We are visitors on this planet.
We are here for ninety or one hundred years at the very most.
During that period we must try to do something good,
something useful, with our lives.
Try to be at peace with yourself, and help others share that peace.
If you contribute to other people’s happiness,
you will find the true goal, the true meaning of life”
